Lakeview Lodge celebrate fantastic CQC report

Staff, residents and families at Lakeview Lodge Care Home in Milton Keynes are delighted with their recent CQC report, rating them as ‘Outstanding’ for responsiveness and overall ‘Good’. The report stated that “Staff went the extra mile to find out about people's individual backgrounds, hobbies and interests, to accommodate activities that were person centred, meaningful and engaging.”

The care home in Newton Leys, Milton Keynes has been open for just over a year and offers residential care in a luxury setting. Residents enjoy a wide range of activities tailored to their individual preferences and can take advantage of the facilities in the home including cinema room, hair dressing salon, spa and bistro cafe.

Home Manager Cheryl Rolt was especially pleased that the report rated the responsiveness of the service as ‘Outstanding’, describing the Registered Manager and staff team as ‘passionate’ about people receiving person centred care. “I’m so proud of all the team at Lakeview Lodge” said Cheryl “Every single one of them is 100% dedicated. We set very high expectations from the moment the home opened its’ doors last year. The team have gone above and beyond to put our residents at the heart of everything we do here and continually strived to improve the quality of life for each and every person”.

The report highlighted that ‘People received a personalised service that was responsive to their individual needs and there was an emphasis on each person's identity and what was important to them. There was a commitment to ensuring strong links with the community and an emphasis on enhancing people's lives through the provision of meaningful, imaginative activities and opportunities.’

People using the service and their relatives confirmed they were involved in the assessment process prior to taking up the service and with their ongoing care reviews. One person said, "I was involved in putting together my care plan, it is regularly reviewed and adapted as things change." The team at Lakeview Lodge go to great lengths to ensure people's care plans have information on how people wanted their care to be delivered and include information on people's social, cultural and spiritual beliefs and their physical and emotional needs.
