Residents and staff at Somerset House Care & Nursing Home were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of York Cllr David Carr and Suzie Mercer Sheriff, for afternoon tea at their home. Residents were entertained by a local singer who sang songs and got everyone up dancing and clapping along.
A beautiful afternoon team was prepared by Chef Manager Neil Standish and his kitchen team who were delighted that their special cakes and bakes were so well received by families and guests.
“It was a wonderful afternoon and great to see so many smiling faces,” said Home Manager Dipin Peter. “Our residents were delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor and Sheriff to our home. They enjoyed time chatting with the residents and families, we are very grateful that they came and spent time with us here at Somerset House”.
