Tallington Lodge Care Home in Tallington near Stamford has been selected as a Finalist in the prestigious Knight Frank Refurbishment & Renovation Awards 2021. The Refurbishment & Renovation Award recognises heritage, redesign and repositioning in the healthcare and care home sector. The independent judging panel will be reviewing all finalists over the next few weeks and hope to announce the winners in early November.
Opened in March 2019 the refurbishment and extension of Tallington Lodge was a two-year project to relaunch the home as a luxury sixty-bed facility in the heart of the local community. The care home sits in a prominent location at the heart of the village of Tallington in Lincolnshire. The scheme at Tallington Lodge has involved the partial demolition of the old care home to make way for a new sympathetically designed two-storey front extension in keeping with the original Regency period rectory and character of the village. Given the site constraints, a basement with all back of house services was incorporated into the design, allowing the full optimisation of the ground floor and first floor for resident use. The scheme was complete in two-phases and the home was occupied throughout the project, working closely with the building contractor and project manager disruption to residents was minimal.
Tallington Lodge is the flag-ship care home for the Country Court group, who operate 33 Care Homes around the country, with several throughout Lincolnshire. The beautiful surroundings give residents the opportunity to enjoy life to the full in a comfortable and luxurious setting. Each part of the home has been thoughtfully designed to be exactly that - a home.
In March 2020 Tallington Lodge won the Best Regeneration Project at the 2020 Pinders Healthcare Awards, which recognises the very best developments in all types of care-related property. Whilst architectural standards and innovation are key factors, the overriding element in recognising Tallington Lodge as the winning project was the degree to which it has recognised the needs and desires of the service-users and incorporated these into the final design.
