Love was in the air at Baycroft Flitwick Care Home near Ampthill as residents and guests came together for a heartwarming Valentine's Day celebration filled with warmth, music, and delightful treats.
‘Our dining area underwent a romantic makeover, decorated with charming hearts and balloons. Residents also spent lots of time crafting special heart decorations, which added a personal touch to our celebrations. We had other features such as white linen tablecloths, delicate rose petals, and specially made afternoon tea menus to make it a wonderful afternoon affair.’
‘Each resident was made to feel special and given a single red rose on Valentine's Day to show the love and appreciation we have for them all here at Baycroft Flitwick. Attached to each rose we had written personalised messages as a simple gesture that meant a lot,' commented Bernadette Hoo-Hing.
'Family members joined our Valentine's celebrations and were treated to the musical stylings of a live entertainer, whose music ranged from soulful ballads to lively reels. The music also had all our residents moving in one way or another with toes tapping and hands clapping.’
‘To finish the afternoon, we all enjoyed taking part in the annual ‘Country Court Baked with Love’ competition. Our talented Chef Manager, Anna Pylak, treated us to three delicious cakes to sample. After savoring each one, we cast our votes, with the lemon and raspberry swirl cake emerging as the clear favourite," Commented Danielle Gladwin, Home Administrator.
