Ferrars Hall nominated for an Age Space Ageing Allies Award

Ferrars Hall Care Home is pleased to announce that they have been nominated for an Age Space Ageing Allies Award within the dementia services category. They have been selected for this award due to the wonderful support service provided at the regular Dementia Cafes which have been created to support their community in and around Huntingdon.

Ageing Allies Agespace Awards -

‘Age Space wants to shine the spotlight on everyone doing incredible work across the county for the older population of Cambridgeshire. Ageing Allies are groups and organisations that are going above and beyond in their efforts to support older people. They can help in many ways, from running a local lunch club or home care service to offering a dementia advice service, or an accessible exercise group.’ Commented The Team at Age Space.

‘We are proud to be nominated for this award, we are delighted that our staff team has been recognised for all the hard work involved in making our Dementia Cafes a success. It is important for our residents to retain connections with their local community. Opening our doors to the wider community ensures that all those living with dementia locally have access to a meaningful and engaging coffee morning with the opportunity to socialise and support each other.’ Commented Home Manager Susan Dunnell.

What it would mean to win -

‘It would mean so much to win this award for everyone in the home who continuously works hard to provide our Community Coffee Mornings once a month. Everyone in the care home makes a contribution from the front of house team, to the chefs and care team.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Dana.

‘Our team of wellbeing coordinators work very hard to ensure that all our residents can experience diverse and meaningful activities whilst maintaining ties with their local community. Many of the people in our care are long-time residents of Huntingdon and the surrounding areas. By knowing this our team ensures that they still have links to their community and services provided within it.’ Commented Senior Customer Relations Manager Katie Peters.
