Hermitage House Care Home 1st Birthday Extravaganza

Staff and residents of Hermitage House Care Home in Thrapston celebrated the first anniversary of the home’s opening in March 2023. The celebrations were ‘Great Gatsby’ themed with colour-coordinated decorations to set the scene. Staff and residents enjoyed dressing up in themed costumes and were entertained by a singer, close-up magician, and caricaturist.

Celebrating 1 year of Hermitage House -

To get the afternoon underway, Deputy Manager Sarah Knight delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing gratitude to the community, residents, families, and staff. She remarked, "Thank you all for joining us today as we commemorate the one-year milestone of Hermitage House Care Home. I extend my genuine appreciation to our residents, staff, families, and the local community for your dedicated support since our grand opening in early March 2023."

Looking to the future, Sarah Knight expressed aspirations for Hermitage House Care Home to remain an integral part of the Thrapston community, committed to upholding the highest standards of care for residents and their families. She concluded, "Thank you for being part of our journey."

After the speech resident Renee happily assisted in cutting the cake to mark the occasion. This prompted many cheers and proud smiles from all present.

Activity Coordinator Margaret Bird reflected, "It was a lovely atmosphere to be part of."

Guests were transported back to the 1920's -

Guests enjoyed a Gatsby-themed menu created by Chef Manager Leonard Grigoriu and his team. They also had the opportunity to sample the Country Court Signature Mocktail ‘Mr and Mrs Collins’ created by Client Services Manager Gyalbo Tamang. Entertainment was provided by guest singer Jamie, who performed a range of 1920s-inspired classics. Everyone was captivated by the magic of close-up magician Sam and left in stitches by caricature artist Suzie.

'Resident Bob Caswell particularly enjoyed guest singer Jamie's performance and eagerly sang a song himself, reminiscing about his days as a performer. With his family by his side, Bob took centre stage for his performance.' Commented Front of House Team member Janet Johnson.

The festivities left guests immersed and filled with positivity. Comments such as "We've thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon. There was so much to do, far beyond our expectations," and "We can't believe it's been a year since Hermitage House opened. It's a wonderful addition to Thrapston," echoed throughout the care home.
