Staff at Ferrars Hall Care Home in Huntingdon organised an ice cream day for residents. Members of the care team had recently completed a sponsored climb of Mount Snowdon and used some of the funds raised to create a special day for residents.
‘Our wonderful care team wanted to use the money they had raised from their sponsored climb of Mount Snowdon to fund an extra special activity that all residents could enjoy. So, they came up with a great idea to hold an ice cream day. We had the ice cream man and his van come to us at Ferrars Hall. He served all our residents with their ice cream of choice. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces.’ Commented Senior Customer Relations Manager Katie Peters
‘We held our Ice Cream Day on Sunday 23rd of July as it was National Vanilla Ice Cream Day, using funds raised by the Snowdon Walk Team. It was lovely to get residents and their families together, they were very happy to be able to share an ice cream with their loved one. We also had lots of positive comments from families that did come about what a nice thing it was to do on a Sunday afternoon.’ Commented Home Manager Susan Dunnell.
‘Everyone enjoyed a vanilla Mr Whippy, with a choice of sprinkles, flakes and sauces. It was great to see the money we had raised from our challenge bring so much joy and laughter to all our residents at Ferrars Hall’ Commented Care Assistant Peter.
