Out and about month at The Grange Care Home

Recently residents living at The Grange Care Home in Newport near Saffron Walden enjoyed a fun and educational day out in Cambridge. Their trip included a visit to a Fudge Shop, watching punting on the river plus a stop at The Cambridge Science Museum.

Residents venture out to Cambridge -

‘We took residents Betty, Mary and Rita on our trip who had asked to visit somewhere different for a change. On the trip residents learnt how fudge is made and when we went to the science museum they enjoyed looking at all the different globes and learning about them.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Yvonne Gray.

‘After we finished at the fudge shop and the science museum, the residents said their favourite part of the trip was watching tourists on the River Cam having a go at punting. We watched whilst enjoying a delicious ice cream to finish off the day.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Faye.

‘We all really enjoyed the day. It was nice to see all the scenery and do something different’ Commented residents Betty, Rita and Mary

At Country Court, we believe that care homes are for the life yet to be lived. We want to show people that, where possible, our residents take a full and active part in their local communities.

‘All the residents we took on this specific trip really loved it. It’s something we will be looking into doing again It’s been wonderful to see our residents enjoying what’s on our doorstep in Cambridge and becoming part of their local community’ Commented Home Manager Lijo Varghese.
