Recently at The Grange Care Home in Saffron Walden staff and residents held their very own Peter Rabbit tea party inspired by Peter Rabbit Day which is due to take place in August. Residents enjoyed freshly made Peter Rabbit themed cupcakes, games and refreshments. Staff also got into the spirit of the day by dressing the part as Peter Rabbit himself and his carrot side kick
‘We all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea party inspired by Peter Rabbit Day. We especially liked that our Senior Carer Tina and Wellbeing Coordinator Yvonne wore fancy dress. We all signed a petition to make this happen and get Tina involved in our tea party’ Commented Resident Betty.
‘The reason we decided to hold a tea party for the residents is because they love any opportunity that gets them all together. We also decided on the theme of a Peter Rabbit tea party because we felt that it would resonate with our resident’s childhood and with bringing up their own children as great opportunity for reminiscing’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Yvonne Gray.
‘I was forced to be Peter Rabbit by our residents and their petition. But I wouldn’t have it any other way as it has put so many smiles on their faces seeing me dressed up’ Commented Senior Carer Tina.
‘Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the vanilla Peter Rabbit cupcakes with a small sliver of chocolate birthday cake. They also got extremely competitive when it came to playing the Peter Rabbit board game’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Yvonne Gray.
‘Not only did we have a themed tea party for the residents but we celebrated our resident June’s birthday. Our Chef Manager Georgina and her staff team made a delicious chocolate cake for us all to enjoy and we sang happy birthday to celebrate June’ Commented Home Manager Lijo Varghese.
