On Saturday, 9th December, Selwood House Care Home in Charlton Down celebrated the festive season with a heartwarming Christmas Fayre fundraiser, successfully raising £300 for the Dorset County Hospital Charity. Opening its doors in September, Selwood House, known for its luxury residential, dementia, and respite care services, embraced the opportunity to give back to the community.
Ben Marsden, the Customer Relations Manager at Selwood House, expressed his delight at the fayre's success.
“Witnessing our community come together at Selwood House for such an important cause has been heart-warming. The grand raffle, featured a range of prizes generously provided by local businesses including Charlton Down Cricket Club, The Gamekeeper pub in Charminster, The Charlton Down Health & Fitness Club, Kooky Bloom, No.36, and Naturalife, making it a memorable part of our event.”
Selwood House is thankful to everyone who played a part in this event – from the local businesses and residents to the stallholders and attendees. A special note of appreciation goes to the St Marys Charminster Church choir, whose carol singing brought a festive ambiance to the care home.
Selwood House looks forward to welcoming their local community on Wednesday 3rd January for their monthly Community Coffee Morning which takes place on the first Wednesday of the month from 10am – 12pm.
