Staff recognised with awards at Country Court’s Spalding Care & Nursing Homes

The teams at Country Court’s Spalding Care and Nursing Homes have been celebrating their annual staff awards this week. Traditionally Christmas is an opportunity for Country Court directors to visit Care Homes in Spalding to say ‘thank you’ in-person to staff teams for all their hard work and to celebrate with their Staff Awards. This year the Awards have gone ahead virtually; with nominations made online, the judges have reviewed the entries and the winners were announced in a series of virtual award ceremonies throughout December, with the Directors broadcasting from their own ‘Santa’s Grotto’.

The Country Court Board of Directors are extremely proud of our staff family this year.” Said Alykhan Kachra, Co-CEO. “Every day in our homes across the country we have seen examples of how our teams have gone above and beyond to keep our residents safe, often putting them before their own families. We are very lucky to have such a supportive and devoted group of people, the awards are an important opportunity to celebrate the positive work going on in our homes. Our staff should be proud of the difference they have made to people’s lives this year”.

There were over 1000 nominations across the group from staff and residents and their families. This year it was clear how much families appreciated the efforts of staff to keep their loved ones safe and how much staff had supported each other throughout the pandemic.

Winners at Ashwood Care and Nursing Home in Spalding Common were Receptionist Hilda Villarete, Senior Carer Anca Toderas and Care Assistant Louise Norman. A family member who nominated Hilda said “I would like to nominate Hilda because she is the "face" of Ashwood, and the perfect ambassador for your company. Every time I have visited my mother especially during these most difficult times she has looked after me and the home to the Nth degree. She is without doubt exactly the type of person to make you feel safe and well looked after.”

At Beech Lodge Care and Nursing Home in Holbeach winners were Deputy Manager and Nurse Sinoj Thomas, Care Assistant Chloe Hart and Home Manager Karen Atillo. Chloe was nominated because she “has gone above and beyond to make sure residents have person-centred care. She always has a smile on her face and brightens everyone’s day up.”

Winners at Fenchurch House Care Home in Spalding Common were Teresa Pegram, Suria Webb, Tina Ellis and a special commendation for Edmalyn Consigna. Edmalyn was nominated for going above and beyond to make residents to the new care home feel comfortable and welcome.

At St John’s Care Home on Hawthorn Bank in Spalding winners were Deputy Manager Natalie Parnham, Care Assistant Sharon Hare and Activity Coordinator Norva McIntosh. A family member who nominated Norva said “We would have lost mum if it wasn’t for this lady, she had time to talk to mum, taking over from her family who couldn’t help because of lockdown. Even mum calls her ‘her angel’.”

The award categories are aligned to the company’s three core values of ‘Local home, National family’, ‘Shared experiences bring us together’ and ‘Celebrating life every day’, the values encompass the way Country Court wishes life to be lived in their homes. The awards go to staff who have gone above and beyond to exemplify the family values at the heart of each Country Court home.
