Oakview Lodge Care & Nursing Home celebrated a fun-filled summer fete with their local community and families in Welwyn Garden City this month. The event featured various stalls, live music, tombola, crafts, games, and a visit from the Kaotic Angels LEMC UK Nomads bikers and St Johns Ambulance.
'The Summer Fete was so good and busy. It was wonderful for the residents to interact with their local community. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was a wonderful family fun day. One of my highlights from the afternoon was when a 96-year-old resident Henry got to sit on one of the bikers' motorcycles. It made his day. It's days like these that make me enjoy my job more' said Wellbeing Coordinator Rachel.
The home also showed its support and appreciation for the Kaotic Angels, who do a lot for the local community, by collecting food donations for them. "We wanted to help them with their charitable aims to provide for those in need," said Home Manager Clare Twiss.
'We want to say a big thank you to Musical Memories for entertaining our residents, families, and the community at our Summer Fete. It was great to hear some requested songs and see so much enjoyed from everyone' Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Mihaela.
Customer Relations Manager Kelly Rowson was impressed by the turnout and the atmosphere. "It was a beautiful afternoon that I hope we can do again next summer," she said.
