Westfield Care &Nursing Home visit Newark Air Museum

Recently at Westfield Care & Nursing Home in Boston residents Linda, Paul, Cliff E & Kath enjoyed a trip out in the mini bus to the Newark Air Museum.

Newark Air Museum first opened in April 1973 and is located on the former World War II airfield of Winthorpe. It holds an array of more than 90 aircraft and cockpit sections. It has also one of the biggest volunteer run aviation museums in the UK.

All the residents loved looking at what the Newark Air Museum had to offer from old war time uniforms to planes. ‘Resident Linda is a big fan of planes from the war and was in her element at the museum. She can also name all of the war time planes’ and ‘Resident Paul particularly loved looking at the old-fashioned war uniforms as he is fascinated by anything related to the war’ commented Wellbeing Coordinator Gwen.

After seeing all that the museum had to offer residents went to the museum café for a nice warm meal to which one of the residents said ‘thank you for taking me here’. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all the resident and the home can’t wait to take residents on more trips like it.
