Make a difference - Be a Nurse

At Country Court our job roles are extremely diverse. Our nurses' primary responsibility is to understand and treat the often complex physical and mental health needs of our residents. They help our residents to maintain their health and cope with changes in their mental and physical abilities, allowing them to remain as independent and active as possible. To do this our nurses continually monitor each resident's mental status and cognitive ability as well as any acute/chronic health concerns they may have. They also discuss and manage more common health issues – including falls, incontinence and changes in sleep patterns.

Residents with dementia in particular often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. Our nurses do everything they can to help every resident retain their sense of identity and feelings of self-worth.

Management of residents' regular medication, changes in diet and the use of special equipment where necessary – such as a blood sugar monitor or a walker – and daily exercise routines are all important aspects of the nursing role in our homes. Our nursing staff make an incredibly important and positive difference to the lives of our residents.
