Meet the family: A chat with Reg

Moving into a care or nursing home can be a daunting prospect for some people. However, getting to know the staff and fellow residents will help you to feel at home in no time. Swapping life stories is a great way to discover shared interests, make new friends and help you to feel part of the family.

Meet Reg who lives at Priory Court Care & Nursing Home in Burnham-on-sea:

Reg is 93 and has lived at Priory Court since 2018. We sat down with Reg over a cup of team and asked him what he is most proud of in his life;

"Getting a great job that I loved, I was a Railway Fireman. There were always trials and tribulations with every job and every day was different".

Reg's favourite place in the world is Turkey where we enjoyed many family holidays "Their culture is very respectful, I wish more people were as courteous here". In his younger days, Reg enjoyed going to the Windmill Theatre in London with the lads.

Describe yourself in three words:

Sociable, chatty and humorous!

What do you enjoy most about living at Priory Court?

Everybody smiles, the staff are lovely and the food is good! My favourite dish is Beef Curry.

Reg's top tip:

"When you have a smile on your face, you will have a good day!"
