A Day Full of Activities at The Grove Care Home

Recently at The Grove Care Home in Grimsby residents enjoyed a healthy start to their morning with chair exercises led by Wellbeing coordinator Julie Moore, an afternoon spot of gardening and therapeutic colouring in the sun.

‘Residents Betty, Bessie and Josephine were wonderful at moves such as roly-poly, moving their scarves and pompoms round and round. It's a good way to get the joints moving and help the residents feel less stiff. We do these exercises 3 times a week. They all love it.’ Commented wellbeing coordinator Julie Moore.

Exercises were followed by a spot of gardening outside for Country Court’s annual competition 'Country Court in Bloom'. 'Residents planted sweat peas and watered all the plants. They’re all in charge of the garden, but resident Betty particularly loves to take the lead. She's done it all her life and has continued her love for gardening in her next chapter here at The Grove' Commented Home Manager Kelly Lofts.

'Whilst out in the garden planting we thought we would take advantage of the nice weather and do some colouring in support of dementia awareness week. Residents all coloured in the dementia flower so beautifully. Peter had a lovely steady hand and Bessie made her creation very colourful and bright' Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Julie Moore

'Residents also enjoyed some lovely home baked cookies with tea and coffee to wash it down made by Chef Hayley Barber. It was a beautiful day for our daily activities' Commented Customer Relations Manager Ros Wells
