Long serving staff member at Belmont House Care & Nursing Home retires after twenty-three years

Residents & staff at Belmont House Care & Nursing Home in Stocksbridge held a retirement party for their much loved care worker Eileen Wood. She received a homemade cake, cards, flowers and presents to thank her for her twenty-three years of service and all her hard work.

Eileen's time at Belmont House - 

Eileen has worked at Belmont House in many roles including senior care assistant, kitchen assistant and chef for a total of 23 years. Eileen has loved her time caring for residents and making them smile on her shifts.

‘I have enjoyed my job immensely and I am proud of the care I have been able to provide for residents and the company. I would do it all again. Country Court has been the best thing that has happened to Belmont’ Commented Eileen

‘Eileen favourite part of her job here at Belmont House has been providing care for each and every resident, it has given her much pleasure. She has worked both days and nights in her time here and has always given 110% in everything that she does.’ Commented Home Manager Joanne Coldwell.

‘Eileen is a very lovely lady who has always gone the extra mile with all of our residents, she has been a tremendous support to the home and is a very reliable lady who will be missed greatly’ Commented Home Manager Joanne Coldwell.

Brief life background -

Eileen was born in Barnsley and lived with her mum and dad. Eileen eventually moved to Stocksbridge where she married her husband, Michael, in 1973. Eileen and her husband Michael have recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Eileen has 4 children Carol, Sharon, Ruth and Christopher, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Eileen's retirement plans - 

‘Eileen is most looking forward to getting away in her static caravan in her retirement. She loves exploring different places so this is first and foremost what she will be doing in her retirement.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Yvonne Snape.

Eileen’s wish for Belmont House Care & Nursing Home after her retirement is for the home to continue giving excellent care to people who need it.
