Neale Court Care Home hold successful Cupcake Day coffee morning

Neale Court Care Home in North Hykeham enjoyed a successful coffee morning in aid of Alzheimer’s Society’s cupcake day on Thursday 14th June. The event was very well supported by families, staff and the local community of North Hykeham.

We’ve had local people knocking on the door and donating boxes of cakes, as well as lots of people who’ve joined us for a cup of tea and others who want to come and have a look around our care home” said Home Manager Becky Hunt “it’s been a great day and all in support of a fantastic cause too”.

Well-being and Activities Coordinators Annette and Lyndsey have been hard at work making and baking cakes and were busy serving tea and coffee to a constant stream of visitors on the day. “It’s been great to see lots of resident’s families here supporting us as well as new faces too, we’ve raised £105.10 too so all in all a great event!”.

The Alzheimer’s Society cupcake day is an annual event to raise funds to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. In the UK, someone develops dementia every three minutes, and there is currently no cure. Alzheimer's Society support anyone affected by dementia, the cupcake days have raised £1.4 million since 2016.
