Meet the family: Irene & Tony

Coming to live at our Swanholme Court Care Home has been the start of a new chapter of life together for Irene and Tony. The move to a care home has meant having all the support they need to live as they would normally at home, with the added pleasure of company (and no chores).  Staying together as a couple helps to retain their lifelong bond and provides companionship and stability.

Meet Irene and Tony who live together at Swanholme Court Care Home in Lincoln.

Irene and Tony are both ninety-three years old and from Lincoln, they married in 1954, and have lived at Swanholme Court since 2017. They have two daughters Beverley and Valerie who they are very proud of.

What is your favourite place to visit?

We loved to visit Cliff Farm near Scampton in Lincolnshire, it's such a beautiful place.

What is your favourite food at Swanholme Court?

We like all the food, we are just pleased we don't have to do the washing up!

A shared passion for dancing

The couple met at a dance class, their teacher was Mrs Franklin and the class was held in her front room. Every Monday she would hire the Uphill Co-op Hall in Lincoln and they had the opportunity to show off their newly acquired ballroom dancing moves.

Both Irene and Tony still love to dance and their favourite activity at Swanholme Court is when they have a singer to entertain them and they can dance along.
