Have a coffee with us

Our care homes have been designed to make our residents feel as comfortable as possible with much thought given to their surroundings and the facilities available to them. Many people are surprised to find Tearooms and coffee shops in many of our luxury care homes. These spaces provide our residents and their families the opportunity to have a lovely hot or cold drink in comfortable and luxurious surroundings, at any time of the day.

We offer a freshly ground coffee with a range of drinks like you’d find in the high street, from a cappuccino to a Cortado or just a simple cup of tea. No coffee shop or tearoom is complete without a few sweet treats, and our chefs have fresh cakes out daily along with other tempting treats.

“Hattie’s Tearoom is a favourite place for our residents to come during the day. There is always someone in here for people who are looking for someone to chat with over a cup of tea, our traditional Victoria Sponge is usually the cake of choice!”

Ben Cox, Chef at Oakview Lodge Care Home in Welwyn Garden City.

These spaces are designed to promote independence and to be a vibrant area accommodating social interaction. At times during the day, they have the feel of a high street coffee shop full of people chatting and enjoying a tea or coffee with friends and family.

After the visiting restrictions are lifted, we look forward to seeing relatives in our coffee shops again. They are very popular with relatives who live or work locally and just want to pop in to catch up with mum or dad within their busy schedule. It is like taking mum and dad out for a quick coffee but without all the hassle.

“Our café here at Rose Lodge is very popular with residents, families and people from the local community. Chef Chris always has some delicious treats ready for people when they pop in and our residents love to help out serving people who come in. Once visiting restrictions are over, we look forward to welcoming back people from the local community in Market Deeping who use our Day Services. We always start the day with a cup of tea and slice of cake in the café before commencing our activities, it provides a great place for people to chat to our residents and get to know each other”

Natalie White, Home Manager, Rose Lodge Care Home.

The interior design and style of each coffee shop and tearoom is unique to each of our care homes. They reflect the overall style of the home or are in-keeping with themes from the local area. Our ‘Gatsby Café’ at Fenchurch House Care Home in Spalding has a luxurious art déco feel, whilst the ‘Enigma Café’ at Lakeview Lodge Care Home in Milton Keynes draws inspiration from the local Bletchley Park where the Enigma machine was used during World War Two.

The coffee shops are usually situated near our hair and nail salons so residents can have a cup of tea and a natter as they wait for their pamper appointments. It isn’t unusual to see residents setting their routine and meeting up with a friend every day in the coffee shop for a drink and a natter, which is lovely to see.
